Overtime Pay Calculator (Türkiye)

Calculate gross overtime pay under the Turkish Labor Law for hours above 45 a week and for hours between your contract hours and 45.

Calculated with Türkiye 2026 rules (Labor Law no. 4857, articles 41 and 63). Gross pay, before tax and social security.

The bracket on your payslip. Overtime is taxed on top of what you have earned so far this year, so the bracket rises through the year.

How it works

Overtime pay is the number of extra hours times the increased hourly wage. The calculator works out two kinds of extra hours separately, both based on Labour Law no. 4857:

overtime pay = hours × hourly wage × 1.50 (work above 45 hours a week, articles 41 and 63)
extra hours pay = hours × hourly wage × 1.25 (contract hours up to 45, article 41)

You can give the hourly wage in two ways. In the Monthly wage tab your gross monthly pay is divided by 225, an established practice based on 30 days a month and 7.5 hours a day that assumes the wage covers a full 45-hour week. If you work part time or already know your hourly wage, use the Hourly wage tab and enter it directly.

Enter hours in at least one of the two fields; an empty field counts as 0. Hours can be decimals (4.5 hours) and are rounded to the nearest minute.

Net amount. To see what you actually keep, select your income tax bracket. The tool deducts four items from gross overtime pay: employee social security 14%, employee unemployment insurance 1%, stamp tax 0.759% and the income tax rate you selected (15%, 20%, 27%, 35% or 40%). The marginal bracket is used because overtime pay is added on top of what you have earned so far in the year. Going back from net to gross cannot be done reliably this way, so you enter the wage as gross.

All amounts are handled internally as whole kuruş, not decimals. The hourly wage is not rounded in between: for example 30,000 TRY / 225 = 133.333… TRY, and rounding it to 133.33 before multiplying would drift by kuruş. Each amount is computed in one step and rounded to the nearest kuruş (half up); the total is the sum of the two amounts.

The calculation follows Türkiye's 2026 rules. Rates are not hard-coded; they sit in a separate data file with their sources, so only that file changes when the law does.

Examples

With a monthly wage. Gross monthly wage 22,500 TRY, hourly wage 100 TRY. 10 hours of overtime in the month are 10 × 100 × 1.5 = 1,500 TRY, and 8 hours of extra hours are 8 × 100 × 1.25 = 1,000 TRY. Total 2,500 TRY.

A difference of kuruş. With a gross monthly wage of 30,000 TRY the hourly wage shows as 133.33 TRY, but 10 hours of overtime come to exactly 2,000.00 TRY; a calculation using the rounded hourly wage would have given 1,999.95 TRY.

With an hourly wage. Hourly wage 150 TRY, 4.5 hours of overtime: 4.5 × 150 × 1.5 = 1,012.50 TRY.

The net amount. Gross overtime pay of 2,000.00 TRY at the 15% bracket: social security 280.00 TRY, unemployment 20.00 TRY, income tax 300.00 TRY and stamp tax 15.18 TRY are withheld, so deductions total 615.18 TRY and the estimated net is 1,384.82 TRY. The same amount leaves 1,144.82 TRY net at the 27% bracket, because income tax rises to 540.00 TRY.

Both kinds in one week. Someone with a 40-hour contract who works 50 hours in a week has 5 hours between 40 and 45 as extra hours (25% increase) and 5 hours above 45 as overtime (50% increase).
